Olympic Archery Barcelona | Carme Pinos and Enric Miralles
“Enric Miralles and Carme Pinos’ Olympic Archery Range, located in Barcelona, Spain, is comprised of two buildings- the competition building and the training building. Both buildings are almost identical in program, and serve the surface areas developed opposite of them. Each building’s placement and form are influenced by its natural surroundings. The training building was designed to follow the movements of the athletes, resulting in a porch looking onto itself. The competition building was designed to follow the topography of the land, which was achieved by tracing several topography lines to reach the building’s final form. The competition building and the training building then become a part of its surrounding landscape.”
